A Successful Labor of Love!
The combination of brains, beauty and business panache has served Jennifer Downey, President of Ambiance, Inc., well. She studied acting and business in New York City, worked as a model and became Cleveland's first female stock trader (one of only 3 in the country) in 1978.
Always happy to donate her time and expertise for a good cause, Downey contributes regularly to many organizations. She is a member of the C.O.S.E. Leadership Council, a governing group of the largest chamber of commerce in the United States. Being one of the movers and shakers around town seems to come naturally to Downey and she stays busy supporting other women in business as part of the Women Business Owners Association.
A woman like Jennifer Downey is bound to go far. When featured in an article in The Cleveland Plain Dealer, Rebecca Freligh wrote about Downey: "The Ambiance concept - spicing up the sex lives of ordinary folks - clearly has a firm grip on the market here. But Downey has more expansive dreams. Today, lace, leather and lick-off-the-body chocolate sauce for Clevelanders; tomorrow the world."
